- meepmorp 6y ago> “Whichever country in the world you come from, whether you’re Labour or Conservative in Britain, whether you’re young or old, you can smile at it and laugh at my name,” Mr. Balls said. That's some pretty classy Balls, tbh.
- tomhoward 6y agoJust yesterday Australia noted the first anniversary of a similar Twitter faux pas, by Prof. Peter Doherty [1], a Nobel laureate in physiology/medicine, and popular commentator on medical science in Australia. One evening during Melbourne's first lockdown for the pandemic, he accidentally tweeted "Dan Murphy opening hours" – Dan Murphy's being a major chain of liquor stores. It gave the nation some much-needed cheer that such an eminent, intelligent person was capable of making that kind of error, as well as apparently being so in need of a drink, which most of us could relate to. He has also been a good enough sport to leave the tweet up [2]. - DC-3 6y agoPeter Doherty, more like Pete Doherty!
- growt 6y agoI first suspected that to be some sort of testicular cancer awareness campaign. Maybe he could give it some spin in that direction.
- gadders 6y agoNo, that is run by his sister Ophelia.

- danso 6y agoA recent and similar variation, also featuring someone who has a surname associated with the phallus https://twitter.com/KTVB/status/1384706494294286341 https://twitter.com/KTVB/status/1384706494294286341 https://www.today.com/popculture/who-mark-johnson-why-did-his-tv-station-tweet-his-t215881 https://www.today.com/popculture/who-mark-johnson-why-did-hi... > Anchor Mark Johnson is an important member of the KTVB-TV staff — so much so that on Tuesday night someone on the social media desk for the Boise, Idaho, NBC affiliate tweeted out a link to Mark Johnson's bio (complete with professional photo), and his name. And nothing else.
- philmcp 6y agoIt's currently 4:20pm on Ed Balls day for me, an incredible moment
