Why not use Mermaid (JS => SVG) or PlantUML (Java => SVG, PNG, etc)? Especially Mermaid [1] is supported by a lot of Markdown editors and can be directly rendered in browsers by including the javascript library. Without any data protection issues. PlantUML needs a server or an installation (Java) which can be self hosted as well. And provides a ton of integrations [2].
