Durkin's son, Sean Durkin, is a Hollywood Director/Producer/Writer. in 2020 he released The Nest starring Jude Law and Carrie Coon. It's based on Sean's life growing up in New York and the UK with his mother, father and half sister. Jude Law plays 'Rory' who is Tim Durkin. He's a lying, greedy, social climber with an insatiable lust for money, just like Tim. A typical sleezy, wannabe conman. Carrie Coon as 'Alison' plays Andrea Durkin very accurately. If you know these 2 (I do) the similarities to the characters and their lives are astonishing! I'm really hoping Sean brings out a sequel to cover 'The Ponzi Years' and the events detailed in Tori Marlan's 'The Man Who Stole a Hotel'. Even better would be if Netflix picked it up for a docuseries. It would rival the blockbuster "Making a Murderer", as there is so much more to this story that MUST come out!
