I'm nervous about this because it's not like living lifeforms don't have a track of adapting and overcoming evolutionary hurdles. I really hope it works as expected and they have contingency plans ready, because I'm sure they're not staying there if experiment fails.
- mousepilot 6y agothis worries me too: "the EPA never asked Oxitec to conduct any caged trials — experiments that would show how well the mosquitoes perform in a controlled environment — before allowing the company to go ahead and send its insects out into the world." that seems a bit nuts
