Facebook Stopped Employees from Reading an Internal Report About Insurrection
- henriquez 5y agoTheir internal report looks like something you'd expect to see published by the CIA, not a private tech company. Is this progress?
- ivraatiems 5y agoWhat do you mean by your question? Of course it's progress. It's just a matter of asking what we are progressing towards.
- 6510 5y agoSomewhere along the line collective benefits were dropped from "progress". Bit like a unification of Disney land and military school. All we know is that we are going.
- sterlind 5y agoit definitely seems like technical progress! it reminds me of reading about xkeyscore, except that Fb is doing both intelligence and interventions on the same platform. I'd love to learn about CORGI and HELLCAT and those other nifty tools they're using.
- DreamScatter 5y agoFacebook was funded by CIA in-q-tel
- anm89 5y agoAs someone who thinks what happened at the capitol was really scary and very serious the insurrection language is still a joke. Cambridge defines insurrection as: > an organized attempt by a group of people to defeat their government and take control of their country, usually by violence: This was more like an organized attempt to get drunk on Budweiser and listen to Kenney Chesney and take "cool" pictures in the capital building for social media likes. It was closer to rushing area 51 than a real rebellion. They deserve to go to jail for sure if they trespassed in the capitol building or did anything else violent but to make it out to be some kind of orchestrated power grab is ridiculous.
- lindy2021 5y ago"Never let a good crisis go to waste" Meanwhile the Capitol is still surrounded by steel mesh fencing with some 2,250 armed National Guard troops on duty many months after the "most popular president of all time" was ushered in.
- amanaplanacanal 5y agoIt’s hard for me to see that as a problem. What problem is that causing for you, or anybody else?
- potions 5y agoif you live here it sucks. soldiers in the streets are -EV in the vibe department.
- WalterGR 5y agoYep I lived in DC. I haven't felt that the consequences are so terrible... What are your thoughts?
- lindy2021 5y agoNothing more permanent than a temporary solution. When does it end? Or is this the new normal?
- WalterGR 5y agoI don't know the answer. What are your thoughts?
- pyuser583 5y agoI’m sure that a small group had planned something very serious. I don’t know how many of the 2000 people were a part of that, and how many were, as you say, “trespassing.” I found it very serious too. I have a serious medical condition. It’s very important that I be able to get to hospital quickly. I’m terrified of being in a place like the capitol, and being stuck there without access to an ambulance. My point - and this is not a popular one - is that any gathering that has the potential to delay emergency services is a serious matter. Anyone who causes it should be held accountable for the deaths that result.
