India breaks global record for new Covid-19 cases for sixth day in a row
- sinyug 5y agoBased on the stats for the last 24 hours,[1] it looks as if the tide has started turning in Maharashtra. Home to 8% of India's population, it has been responsible, cumulatively, for ~25% of all cases and ~30% of all deaths (based on reported figures). This is the state that was reporting ~60% of all cases and deaths in early/mid February while no one was paying attention to it. If the trend holds, we should start seeing improvements in other states within the next week or two. 1. https://www.mohfw.gov.in/ https://www.mohfw.gov.in/

- sinyug 5y agoI am in Maharashtra. Had to visit a doctor last week. While a lockdown is _supposedly_ in effect since 12/14th April, it didn't feel like it if you look at the traffic on the roads. People don't care.
