I've always been amazed by investment and sales conferences. More times than not they are literally little more than a long string of confidence building techniques or almost religious slogan repeating.
Rarely have I seen a new idea and only a few rare times did I see math or actual respectable research that made me go. Hmmm. This is an interesting idea worth looking into.
My guess is because math and such is boring.
- rchaud 5y agoThey want your money and they want a lot of it. They have to make you feel like a million bucks first. I remember pre-Covid, the Toronto subways were plastered with ads for a real estate conference featuring Tony Robbins(!) and Pitbull(!!) alongside some Shark Tank guy. The sleaze was practically dripping from the posters.
