In what way would government investment help here? The main players already have tons of funding.

- tdhz77 5y agoThe main players have a lot of funding, but that isn’t the only function of government. Standards and infrastructure will be required for self driving to work. LIDAR, optics… it’s becoming more and more apparent that the current approach (Waymo ceo stepping down) (Tesla’s promises FSD) that its just not as simple as money. Governments job is to save lives, NHSTA has done hundreds of studies on the efficacy of self driving. They don’t need to be encouraged… they already know if it’s importance to safety.
