If you traveled around Estonia's countryside ten years ago, there were still these huge abandoned barns around, with one weird feature taht they had really long antennas. They were built for forced agricultural collectives and I was told the antennas were for receiving broadcast instructions, because of central planning. You could see all kinds of massive abandoned structures here and there. So much effort put in, yet so little benefit gained. What a sad legacy from the Soviet union.
