Ask HN: Is Flutter Web Production Ready? Mature Compared to Angular/Vue/React?
- varbhat 5y agoTry this Web version of Fluffychat , Matrix client written in Flutter. https://fluffychat.im/web https://fluffychat.im/web I find it sluggish , performance is not so good and it takes much time for first-render.
- capableweb 5y agoIndeed, if that's an example of a production Flutter web app, Flutter Web has a long way to go. Accessibility seems to be non-existent (tab doesn't change focus), startup time is atrocious (five seconds for me, mostly spending time in "scripting" when profiling) and for some reason, it doesn't let me copy any of the text on the page (wanted to copy-paste a error message I got while trying it), most likely because the full app seems to be just one full canvas (?!)
- jf22 5y agoHow would compare maturity with more popular frameworks that have been around for more than twice as long? Genuinely curious as to what you meant by that question.
- truth_seeker 5y agoFlutter is new thing for me. I am completely off the track with progress of Flutter Web. that's why the question. > How would compare maturity with more popular frameworks that have been around for more than twice as long? I have to have some benchmark to evaluate isn't it ? I am not saying that Flutter Web has to be better than Angular/React/Vue so that I can adopt it. I am just asking how close it comes to these frameworks in terms of functionality.
- jf22 5y agoIs feature parity the same as maturity to you?
- segmondy 5y agoAnything is production ready when you decide to put it on production.
