Party in a Spreadsheet (2020)
- simlan 5y agoThat was a glorious read. Thanks for sharing and kudos to the author. Creativity finds a way..
- tdeck 5y agoThis reminds me of the early web. Those DIY websites had the same playful and convivial quality.
- jacobdi 5y agoI used to work for a company making a bet against live collaboration in spreadsheets. I now see the error in my ways. A spreadsheet party in Excel would just be a nightclub that one person can enter at a time.
- bombcar 5y agoOffice 365 online has a pretty decent multiplayer Excel setup - it has limitations but in general it works pretty well. Great for document reviews/edits (works for Word and Powerpoint as well).
- mathattack 5y agoIt’s been a disaster for us. Seems like Smartsheet and Google sheets shouldn’t exist, but multi-person collaboration in Office is a disaster.
- jacobdi 5y agoYes, 365 has definitely elevated Excel's collaboration. But in my experience, it has speed issues that can cause more problems than it solves.
- golergka 5y agoThat's what Google wave was supposed to be.
- thirdlamp 5y agohilarious, I wish I would've been there
- bjstrevy 5y agoThis is very similar to what we are trying to do with Sidewalk. Anonymous names, chatting with people on the extension or on any specific domain or page. People seem to like the concept although we haven't reached PMF yet. https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/sidewalkchat/denbpdkchnadclbjgpdgaclebnghkfna https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/sidewalkchat/denbp...
- mffap 5y agoLove it! Hopefully it takes off as a thing in the second half of pandemic lockdown madness.
