This article describes the phrases "rent-seeking" and "monopoly rent" as "antitrust jargon." I find this very odd because I thought these phrases had a clear association with communism. I have not actually read the works of Karl Marx, but it wouldn't suprise me if he was the one who coined these phrases. Although I don't deny that government intervention in the economy is sometimes necessary, I think it's down-right bizarre to see a Republican senator throwing these phrases around.
