It seems reasonable to scan whatever high-resolution images we have of the surface of Mars or the Moon with some sort of anomaly detection. You wouldn’t expect to see features such as exact rectangles, for example, unless it’s something unnatural. Or maybe just something natural that we didn’t expect, which is itself interesting. I’m not sure what sort of image analysis would be the best to use here, just to find “something unexpected”....
- jtms 5y agoThe article mentions using ML to analyze and detect anomalies on the moon. Evidently there are a pair of very interesting anomalous shapes on the far side of the moon found in the Apollo footage
- poisonarena 5y agogood source? I would very much like to read more about this

The "passageway" is only revealed when two images with opposing sun directions are superimposed. When those images are combined it leaves a shadow in the middle.
- retrac 5y agoPeople have already spent half a century doing just that manually. All we got was pareidolia. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cydonia_(Mars) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cydonia_(Mars) Still probably worth doing to see if anything pops out?
- fighterpilot 5y agoWould anything there most likely be buried under the sands of time or perhaps not since the moon has no atmosphere?
