Hope this doesn't turn into another human made disaster.
- loldk 5y agoPeople have traded blind trust in religion for blind trust in science. The latter of which has a potential to inflict infinitely more kinds of suffering and total extinction. I love science, but with over 50% of peer reviewed studies not being replicable and the state of medicine and pharmaceuticals... It's no wonder we have so many anti intellectuals and anti vaxers. We need to clean up the corruption and fake scientists, and sellouts like Bill Nye who bowed to companies like Monsanto.
- sneak 5y agoWhat is the proposed disaster mechanism here, in your worst case scenario?
- Flatcircle 5y agoWorst case scenario is a hybrid mosquito made from the three species the scientists combined. The species could theoretically, in the worst scenario, be much more aggressive and hard to kill, etc. It’d enable it to spread disease much more efficiently and kill many more people.

- sneak 5y agoSeems like the same mitigation strategy that was used against the non-GM bugs could be reused against the GM ones. If it doesn't work, do it harder.
