Why doesn't he move some of satoshi's bitcoins to prove it? Did he just lose the wallet in the washing machine?

  One of the original reasons why he didn't want to connect his old wallet was fear of a bug which would empty his bitcoins. Hence the whole original claim where he needed to use his own laptop and software to sign a phrase using a satoshi key.

    I don't quite understand what that means but assuming it's accurate, why hasn't he done that yet? Hasn't he been claiming he's Satoshi for years?

      He makes a lot of money pretending to be Satoshi, so it’s in his interest to stay with his fake persona. Since he can’t prove it, he doesn’t.
