How do you go from (paraphrasing) "this guy is wrong; responsive design is a powerful tool that can do an amazing job" to "kids these days suck because they never got enough criticism"? That's way out of left field. Who knows why the guy is wrong, or can you magically determine from that blog post that he's just an incapable schlub who was never subjected to enough shaming?
