Don't forget extremely aggressive marketing and paying affiliates for installs. For a long time, all of the shady adware installers were installing Chrome behind your back.
- spacemanmatt 6y agoAgreed, Google is no saint. But compared to the dirty tricks campaign Microsoft waged overtly through leveraging OS bugs against competitors and threatening competitors (read: what the DOJ sued them over) Google was the relatively clean choice. Hindsight makes them look way worse, of course.
