Stoicism Is Not Enough
- proc0 6y agoAuthor misunderstands severely. It's not just about individuality. There is a lot about love and kindness to others and yourself. Article doesn't mention other stoics, like Epictetus, who was a slave, and wrote an extensive philosophy on his experiences. Isn't it amazing that a Roman emperor and a Greek slave both wrote about similar observations despite wildly different lives? Buddhism also overlaps a bit, mainly in condemning attachment as the root of all suffering. Anyway, the author should just enjoy his hedonism without needing to bash others or feel ashamed.
