If this had been written by anyone but pg, the headline would've been changed to "A Reason to End the Death Penalty" :D
- dang 6y agoIf we did that, commenters would complain "yet again, the HN moderators completely change the meaning of a title with their invasive and random editing. It's infuriating." And in this case they'd be right, because in this case the definite article and the word "real" are essential—the article's argument doesn't really exist without them.

- teddyh 6y agoI think that you got that backwards. What ‘raldi’ was trying to say that it’s good that you didn’t edit the title, but implied that it’s sad that it was merely because it was pg who wrote the post that the title was left unaltered.
