I was recently driving on a section of the M1 which has been converted to “smart” motorway. Despite being almost empty, the variable speed limit signs on the overhead gantries were lit up: 60, 60, 60, 60, 60, 60, 50, 60, 60... Guess which gantry had the speed cameras.
