As someone who has a 2016 MacBook Pro which is developing all sorts of problems within a month of AppleCare expiring, who couldn’t take it in to the genus bar, for the sensible my warranty expires soon fix anything wrong with this hardware, because of fucking COVID lockdown shit last year (apple was insanely conservative compared to all other businesses where I live, it was like they got their COVID policy/orders/response from another country... anyway I was stuck with a dying laptop due to COVID and business necessities (I can afford apple hardware, but not completely duplicate spare apple hardware, that’s what AppleCare and backups are for)
I’ll stop my rant... this is the best news I’ve heard in a while... just 12 months late to help me.... and that puts a really bad taste in my mouth. I suppose I’ll just add this to the list of reasons why they should cave when I demand they fix all the problems with my broken $6k AUD laptop when i take it in for the butterfly keyboard replacement thanks to the extended warranty program on the keyboard (and the fact the keyboard requiresa too-case replacement)
