Ask HN: Is there a plan/way to support emitting native DOM events in React.js

Usually react apps follow the "props down, state up" pattern. This makes them kind of harder to reuse as this is not how a normal HTML would behave. It seems there is no way of triggering Custom DOM Events [01] in React and follow the "props down, events up" pattern.
