Is basically the same thing as a Fitbit? I used one of those for six months and I tracked my sleep -- kind of interesting, but I didn't completely trust it. It seemed to think that if I was laying down and not moving then I was sleeping -- which wasn't always true.
Apparently if it's not measuring your brain waves, it's not actually measuring deep sleep.
Also this gives me the creeps:

- j-rom 6y agoI'm not the person you asked but I think it's because it looks like it gives organizations the ability to track biometrics of its members / employees.
- wreath 6y agoYeah if a tech company starts asking employees to wear Oura ring to track their sleep, that's really out of line. However, a sports or research organization is a different story.
- impendia 6y agoYes, this exactly. My health is nobody's business but mine and my doctor's. I'll make a partial exception for the ongoing pandemic, but that's because the disease can be spread to others by close contact. Insomnia, although quite serious, is not contagious. Overall I don't welcome any attempts by my employer to track anything other than my actual work performance.
