This so easily could be my primary computing device. I've been an iPad user since the first gen and its my goto for anything that isn't work related and that's only because I can't easily write software on it.
I understand there are more people interested in the use cases apple illustrated in their presentation than software developers who just want to run docker on their ipads so I wont hold my breath.
But I'd love to actually justify the need for an M1 to be in an ipad.
- jug 5y agoYes, I think iPadOS is lagging behind the hardware. Hopefully WWDC will show us something that tells they “get it” this year, rather then spending time on widgets and app management. What I personally want is smoother peripheral support, like working directly on external hard drives and NAS storage both for coding and photo library management. No transfers, no syncing, just working on it. The Files app doesn’t feel right, it still feels like a hamstrung file management island in the OS.
