Additionally, a lot of the excitement around mRNA techniques in general is that it is actually a much "lighter touch" than others in various ways -- e.g. not editing genes like CRISPR, using a much simpler delivery method (lipid delivery vehicle vs adenovirus delivery as in the other vaccines), etc.
