I suspect they could have asked reddit to move their experiment elsewhere at this point if they cared and it's actually an experiment still. Otherwise, it's not an experiment because there is no end, and it's just special behavior applied to one subreddit in perpetuity. You can still get data from that, but it's disingenuous to present it as an experiment (it could entirely be reddit being weird. I'd believe that as wel).
