Elon Musk roasts WSJ coverage of fatal Tesla crash, defends Autopilot
- ratsmack 6y agoIt seems that so many people and some journalists are so eager to see Tesla fail that they would destroy their reputation to make it happen.
- m00x 6y agoJournalists no longer need a reputation. It's all about pandering to your base these days.
- impulser_ 6y agoI don't think it's about them failing. I think it's more about Tesla and Elon Musk not being truthful.
- aksss 6y agoIf any point has been driven home over the last several years, it’s that corporate media (ad-driven “news”) doesn’t let truth get in the way of sensation or ideology.
- HarryHirsch 6y agoHe still calls it "autopilot" although whatever that vehicle had, it certainly wasn't one. There should be criminal charges for that nomenclature.
- ratsmack 6y agoThere are numerous forms of autopilot, and most require human intervention when things go awry... Tesla is no different.
- m00x 6y agoPlane autopilot being one of them. For a long time, it would just level the plane off and keep it on track. It didn't fly itself from point to point, didn't land/pull off.
- HarryHirsch 6y agoWell, yes. But air routes are not at all as congested as highways, and air traffic control keeps traffic out of your way. An autopilot in a plane is established technology and suitable for conditions, the other, not at all. Calling experimental lane-keeping technology an "autopilot" is just the wrong terminology and does not increase safety.
- atat7024 6y agoRead his tweet. No way the assist features were on, allegedly.
- hourislate 6y agoThere is a lot more to this story than we are hearing. I am going to throw this out there. Pure speculation. The occupants were already dead/murdered. They were placed in the vehicle, why no one was placed in the drivers seat I have no clue or maybe the driver got out after jamming the accelerator pedal down while holding the brake (setting Cruise on,etc). Something along these lines.
