rpgs are kind of chore simulators the other comments have a lot of good points, but one thing i see left out -- the biggest difference between skyrim and morrowind is their growth curves. Skyrim is logarithmic while morrowind is sigmoid -- very flat and punishing in the early game. but once you hit that first inflection point it gets a lot more fun. you enter a feedback loop of getting missions -> winning combat -> getting paid -> getting stronger -> repeat but you definitely have to have a mindset for taking it slow and appreciate exploring a hand crafted world piece by piece.
