I can't see this ending well...
...Also, did they finalize a deal for hosting? I recall seeing their absurd hosting spec [2] that would have cost >$250K/mo, and I don't see that working anywhere other than AWS/GCP/Azure or a dedicated datacenter.

- yabones 6y ago> "It's not a side business for anything. It's not a shell company for anything," he said. I don't see how a company with "less than 50 employees" could possibly host something with that spec, reliably and securely. Maybe it's just grifters all the way down.
- tyingq 6y agoInteresting. They don't seem capable of matching the proposed specs: https://pbs.twimg.com/media/Er5WmBxXUAEpICW?format=jpg https://pbs.twimg.com/media/Er5WmBxXUAEpICW?format=jpg Maybe somebody reeled in the specs to something more reasonable.
- CodesInChaos 6y agoI wonder which of those "b"s are bits and which are bytes. e.g. is the external traffic 2 Gbit/s or 16 Gbit/s. And how many users do they have to need that amount of hardware?
- banana_giraffe 6y agoGiven all of the other little "b"s line up with Bytes in AWS terms, I'd assume the traffic is bytes as well., so 16 Gbit/s
- tyingq 6y agoBoth their recently departed CTO and also their Founder/ Lead Engineer have very little real-world technical experience from what I see on LinkedIn. I can't see how they would be "developing an artificial intelligence-based content moderation system".
- yjftsjthsd-h 6y agoSame way as everyone else: Throw statistics at it, pretend that it works, brand it "Artificial Intelligence", use it to excuse all failures in moderation.
