Any chance we could have a MacBook Pro with a touchscreen?
- soapdog 5y agoIf Jobs was alive, no. Now, who knows... I don't believe so, they seem to be firm on the idea that touch is the realm of iPad and iPhone.
- mrweasel 5y agoI still fail to understand what workflow would benefit from a touchscreen.
- deergomoo 5y agoI'm one of the annoying luddites that continues to hope they never do this. I know that if they added one I wouldn't have to use it, but as soon as a large enough percentage of Macs have touchscreens (which considering the majority of Macs sold are laptops, would be fairly quickly), software will start to assume that its there and be designed accordingly. I have absolutely zero desire to touch my laptop screen, nor do I want to lose a ton of UI density to accommodate touch input. You can make the argument that they sell desktop computers and so software can never completely rely on a touchscreen, but there's already plenty of software that is suboptimal to use if you're using a mouse rather than a multitouch trackpad.
