Thanks, I was curious and wanted to ask the question in your edit.
One follow up I might add is how might one acquire such food? Is it even commercially available or do you have to grow it at home yourself?
EDIT:
Nvm, found out via quick search that Spirulina is one type of cyanobacteria.
- throwaway_kufu 5y agoI don’t often recommend specific products, but I feel comfortable recommending zhou nutrition spirulina. Again I can not stress the smell, but the taste isn’t bad and it will be impossible to fathom but you grow accustomed to the smell. Other notes, it stains terribly (the powder as well as after being mixed with water), so I suggest using a mason jar with a few ounces of water (put lid on and shake) so it’s like a shot and do it all over the sink. They make tablets you can get at Whole Foods and it’s very appealing (no smell no mess) instead of the powder, but don’t get sucked in, they are like a watered down version of the powder.
