Hey HN! I made an app that allows you to create a financial plan without a spreadsheet. You fill out a few basic details and assumptions, and it forecasts your net worth. From there you can figure out when you’re financially independent, taking into account any expenses down the line (e.g. having kids, medical bills, etc.) This came about after constantly finding bugs in my spreadsheet. It was almost impossible to explore scenarios (e.g. renting or buying, property or stocks) without breaking something. So I made a well-tested library and a simple web app to interact with it. Some current limitations: 1. It assumes guaranteed year on year growth of investments. Ideally it’d be forecasting returns of risky assets using monte carlo simulations with historical data 2. There’s basic tax calculations so far i.e. income tax, capital gains tax and tax deductions for depreciation on your property
