Is it not enough to understand that this is the double-irish is tax evasion?
edit: tax avoidance* (this changes nothing about the intent of my question, but is literally incorrect)
- Fordec 5y agoYes, because tax evasion is illegal while tax avoidance / reduction through legal means is distinctly not. The Double Irish was as illegal at the time doing something like registering your mostly SF based company in Delaware.
- staticassertion 5y agoI've updated my post, though the legality is irrelevant - I haven't seen anyone complain that this is illegal but that it is unethical.
- kelnos 5y agoNo, it's not. Tax evasion is a crime. This is just mere tax avoidance: using the tax code to legally avoid paying tax.
- staticassertion 5y agoSorry, slipped up there, tax avoidance. So, to restate my question, is it not enough to understand that this is the double-irish is tax avoidance?
