Parents warned to stop using Peloton Tread+ after child's death, other incidents
- ramblerman 6y agoNot sure if this is innate to the Peloton Tread+ or just a general warning that should probably exist for any treadmill in the home.
- tesseract 6y agoTreadmills in general are potentially dangerous. This one sits relatively high off the floor, doesn't have a guard over the rear roller, and doesn't appear to automatically shut down when tilted. The latter two are relatively common, but not universal, safety features. My suspicion is the evidence of a problem right now is purely empirical ("we've been getting more calls about this treadmill than other ones...") and until further research and investigation is done CPSC is therefore declining to speculate on what, if any, differences from other treadmills might be at fault. Unfortunately it does have the effect of giving the appearance of singling out a product for not much reason.
