What's the UI latency like?
On OS X, Windows and Linux, with every version of Eclipse I've ever tried, I can measure the response time between right clicking on a project and a context menu appearing.
- grhino 15y agoIt does a lot of initialization while populating the context menu for the first time. It really gives the wrong first impression on UI latency.
- chuchurocka 15y agoI've been using it since this morning, and for once it actually seems snappy. I never thought I'd say that about eclipse.
- starwed 15y agoWeird, with Helios, I see no lag at all for me an a MacBook Air. Not that I'm saying Eclipse has a super-responsive UI. :)
- dekz 15y agoMacBook Air with an SSD?
- aaronbrethorst 15y agoI don't think they come any other way.
- paxswill 15y agoThe first generation came standard with a very slow spinning hard disk.
- starwed 15y agoYup. I guess I didn't think about opening a context menu being IO bound...
