Show HN: A VT52 Emulator Running in Ncurses
- ksherlock 6y agoIf you want to emulate an actual VT52, you might want to start with the DECscope User's Manual as your primary source. https://vt100.net/dec/ek-vt5x-op-001.pdf https://vt100.net/dec/ek-vt5x-op-001.pdf
- colejohnson66 6y agoTo be fair, the author doesn’t claim it’s anyway good. From the top of the README: > This is a pretty inaccurate emulator of a VT52. I'm sure it's missing several features.
- duskwuff 6y agoIf you want to emulate the VT52, you can fire up MAME. It supports that. :) https://github.com/mamedev/mame/blob/master/src/mame/drivers/vt52.cpp https://github.com/mamedev/mame/blob/master/src/mame/drivers...
- tyingq 6y agoEnds up being sort of like QEMU, translating VT52 input/outputs into the input/ouput whatever your actual terminal is. That's pretty neat.
- axiolite 6y agoThere are others utilities which do the same. I imagine Wyse is much more widespread than vt52 escape sequences today: https://github.com/gutschke/wy60 https://github.com/gutschke/wy60
