  From what I understand, is that if your body is quite good at fighting infection (and thus creates inflammation) you'll live longer. Seems a bit obvious to me, but what do I know? I'm not an academic scientist...

    It's the other way around. Their finding is that lower levels of inflammation correlates with survival, capability and cognition in centenarians.
