Microsoft asked me if I love Teams. I had to tell the truth
- PaulHoule 6y agoDoes anybody use Teams? Team has shipped many units because it is packed-in with Office, but I think that market is pretty crowded you probably have Slack and Zoom and a few other applications of that kind in any workplace -- why subject people to yet another round of setting up their microphones and cameras? Integration with Office is death. Remember OneDrive? It wanted Office applications to automatically save into OneDrive which meant that YOU COULDN'T SAVE DOCUMENTS AT ALL if OneDrive was broken! We use Office to get work done it is supposed to be a haven from the distraction festival, all that can happen by having office advertise Teams is that they'll remind people about OneDrive and OneNote and all the products (bad and good) that Microsoft killed by harassing us about them. (e.g. imagine GEICO car insurance had somebody at every street Corner wearing a gecko suit passing out poison chocolate bars that will make you throw up -- that's what it is like when Microsoft advertises it's own products in Windows) The Irony is that Microsoft had Skype, if it wasn't obsesesed with creating and destroying brands like: * Microsoft Messenger * Lynq * Skype For Business * Teams * ... who knows what else ... Had Microsoft just decided to to grow Skype and then fight apple to open up iMessage there might be a little more clarity in this world.
