I felt like this point should have definitely been expanded further. I found the number one factor in your quality of life will be where you decide to live.
For example, in Los Angeles the typical person would need to spend about $1,500 $1,800 between rent and transportation just to live. Since most younger adults can't do that, they end up either living with their parents or crashing from place to place. This creates a really nasty culture of entitlement. Not to mention exploding levels homelessness.
I almost never met people with their lives together. Chicago on the other hand is absolutely amazing. You can rent a room for 6 to $800, and a monthly metro pass is only about 100$. As a result anyone who puts in the effort can get their own place, and live a decent life. I had no problem finding a great partner in that city!
That's sad I'm pretty wary of most self-help books, or self-help content. Changing your attitude will only go so far, you need to do something drastic like moving or losing a ton of weight. I did both in my twenties and my life is so much better as a result
