Youtube is in the same economic vice as Walmart. It's hard to be cheap and provide a human touch, especially as labor costs rise. Automation only takes you so far in a free economy.
- slt2021 6y agowalmart actually does have customer service in stores. amazon also tries it best to provide customer service (want a return, here is shipping label). the problem with youtube is that you are not youtube's customer, so the dont care about you. Only advertisers are customers and youtube cares about them only. I bet there is a big customer support department staffed with real people and serves only advertisers
- hodgesrm 6y agoIt's hard to argue that Walmart and Amazon are much more considerate of their "users" than Youtube. They are all trying to maximize margins, which are dependent on maintaining network effects and keeping costs as low as possible.
