PowerShell runs on top of dotNET, and the pipe operators pass structured data, xml or json. It's not as fluid for me as a POSIX environment, 35 years of shell muscle memory. PowerShell is a bumpy road: some commands are super powerful, and some bits have strange limitations. But it's certainly encouraging that people are getting stuff done.
