I sympathize quite a bit as a fellow engineer from a non-trad background -- I solved this problem for myself by just biting the bullet and obsessing over getting good at the rote questions we're forced to answer. A nice side effect is that it has made me a better software engineer in some ways. I'm still working on it however, can't seem to shake the intra-interview jitters. I'd be interested in reading more about your swap to digital nomadism.
