Easy. When you have the idea that you’re in a fight for your life it’s very easy to make a mistake.
For us IT folk, it’s wise to recognize this: When you think you just deleted the entire server or something horrid, it may be wise to take a few minutes to pause and relax - so as to not compound the mistake because your mind is racing.
- Forge36 5y agoIn a panic we often jump to what we trained on. I couldn't tell from the footage (as shown on TV), and I wonder if the taser was kept on the left side (I'm right-hand dominant). In additional to taking a few minutes: Pulling in help and admitting you'd just made the mistake goes a long way to ensure the fix doesn't make things worse by having more level heads involved.
