Don't you have to pay extra for the movie anyways? I recall Disney recently charged a movie ticket price for the showing of their latest princess movie. At that point, you are really only saving on snacks. I agree that that's not thing, but its not as if buying the TV grants you the cost of admission to the movie as well. I don't own a TV and I still go to theaters for the occasional movie. I've always felt that I got my moneys worth when going out to the theater. Plus, having a large TV mounted somewhere is just another piece of furniture that I have to account for. I think a home theater system makes sense for a diminishing segment of the population. A theater is cheaper if you are only interested in major releases.
