Wondered for ages whether there is a real situation where this is needed. Good to see this publicly debunked. Now I have a resource to point to when I get the "better safe than sorry" argument.
- DonHopkins 5y agoWhat's been publicly and thoroughly debunked is the very idea of writing shell scripts in the first place, instead of using a non-ridiculous scripting language like Python, Perl, or JavaScript. If you want to be safe instead of sorry, then never write shell scripts.
