- cptskippy 5y agoThe first article was written in 2012, box office numbers peaked in 2010. Everyone was wowed by Avatar in 2009, and then less impressed when the best 3D movie of 2010 was Avatar: Special Edition. Almost no one cared about 3D movies in 2012 and it was only industry momentum and sunk cost fallacy that kept things going for as long as it did.
- crtasm 5y agoAlso how many of those 3D ticket sales came from people who'd be fine with/prefer 2D but didn't have the option.
