Has Mozilla ever made any serious attempt at technical contributions to crypto?

  What do you mean by crypto? I think we do lots of interesting work in that area.     Oh yeah.. Ekr... on whose watch Moz couldn't even keep up a functioning cert chain for Addons.

  Tangentially related: after they canned Brendan Eich he started Brave.

  FF was also pretty involved with DoH and ESNI (now ECH).
