This is so true. There’s also the case where you or someone is hired to offer a fresh perspective on an existing system. After looking at it if your solution is “it looks great the way it is”. The person who hired you would think “why the hell did I even hire this guy?” So even though you know the current system it’s a good system you try to propose a solution just to show value. That it was worth it to hire you.
