No, for the converse reason: sufficient immunity from a virus may not be enough to protect us fully in the presence of an active pandemic, but is is enough to push the R value below 1, such that the outbreaks shrink instead of growing. We're seeing that already in Israel and possibly the UK. The US is up next.
