Georgetown’s Cultural Revolution
- throwawaysea 6y agoIt’s shocking that something as neutral as noting a pattern (of grades varying by race) can be considered “supremacist”. It’s even more incredible that the statement by non-black faculty this article references condemns “merit” as whites supremacist thinking. With the consequence of dissent being a destroyed career, how can there be any checks on such skewed thinking? I’m also not surprised to see the dean jump to condemn the two professors in this story - it often seems the heads of college administrations immediately kowtow to the loudest and most aggressive mobs, instead of neutrally evaluating the situation for what it is. It’s a shame because no one seems to be in a position of psychological safety to stop this ideological purity spiral in universities or other institutions.
